The reduction of energy costs can be a significant competitive factor, as the share of energy costs in some industries lies in the range of the company's result. The ISO 50001 standard aims to create framework conditions for a corporate energy management system. Energy flows must be made transparent and analyzed in order to sustainably save costs and significantly reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Problems in the power supply can also be identified with an energy management system.
For these requirements, Janitza has developed the ISO 50001-certified software GridVis®. The software provides the user with the tool to build an efficient, clear and uniform energy management system. With the help of the supplied measurement data, measures can be developed to improve the energy efficiency of processes, systems and devices. The effect of the implemented measures is continuously monitored by the energy monitoring system, and the results are verified, for example, with the help of key performance indicators (KPIs) and quantity flow diagrams (Sankey).

To avoid unnecessary repair costs and production downtime, continuous monitoring of voltage quality in all technical systems according to IEC 61000-2-4 is necessary.
The voltage in today's networks is far from the ideal sinusoidal form. Voltage interruptions, transients, harmonics, flicker or inrush currents: Various "grid reactions" change the sinusoidal character of the currents and thus also the voltage quality. Impermissible electrical loads and increased thermal losses are the order of the day. As a result, operating equipment can only function to a limited extent or its service life is negatively affected. A production outage is imminent.
Detect grid reactions at an early stage
Sound voltage quality management continuously measures voltage quality, analyzes the data obtained and reveals the central starting points for optimization. The goal is also to reduce maintenance costs. For example, the class A voltage quality analyzer UMG 512-PRO enables monitoring of voltage quality according to common standards such as EN 50160, IEEE 519 or EN 61000-2-4. In addition, the device measures flicker and harmonics up to the 63rd harmonic. The UMG 509-PRO also continuously monitors voltage quality and is used to analyze electrical disturbance variables in the event of grid problems. On the lower grid levels, the UMG 96RM is used to record energy consumption and standard variables as well as other basic PQ parameters.
PQ reports with the GridVis® monitoring software
With the help of meaningful reports, the TÜV-tested Janitza software GridVis® provides sound and understandable information on voltage quality. The heart of the grid analysis is the GridVis® reporting system. The PQ reports provide a quick overview of occurring standard or limit value violations. It also shows whether the voltage quality is sufficient in the period under consideration. Traceability and tracking of the measured values is ensured with the GridVis® software. Legal certainty exists.
