What is a clip-on transducer (NMC)?
The NMC is a transducer that is clipped directly onto an existing current transformer with 1 A or 5 A secondary current and converts its signal into a standardized output signal (0/4–20 mA or 0/2–10 VDC) – without the need to replace the current transformer itself.
When a clip-on transducer is the right choice
The NMC is particularly suitable for retrofitting: If a current transformer is already installed and an additional standard analog signal is required for a PLC, a display device or an energy management system, this can often be solved without replacing the transformer. Alternatively, there are also current transformer with integrated transducer (SWMU) for new installations.
Technical features
- For current transformers with secondary current 1 A or 5 A
- Outputs 0/4–20 mA and 0/2–10 VDC
- Clip-on to existing current transformer, suitable for subsequent installation
Installation and safety
The secondary circuit of a current transformer must never be operated open during operation – before disconnecting measuring devices in the secondary circuit, it must be short-circuited.
Suitable for subsequent installation
