What is a calibratable plug-on current transformer with UL approval (ECTB)?
The ECTB is the calibratable version of the plug-on current transformer with plug-in terminals and UL approval – intended for billing measurement in systems with international certification requirements.
When an ECTB is the right choice
The ECTB is suitable when calibratability as well as UL certification are required. Without these requirements, the standard plug-on current transformer with UL approval (CTB) is the more obvious choice.

Mounting and safety
The secondary circuit of a current transformer must never be operated open during operation – before disconnecting measuring instruments in the secondary circuit, it must be short-circuited.
