How does infrared measurement work?
The device measures the infrared radiation emitted by the surface of an object. This radiation is focused via an optical system and forwarded to a sensor, which calculates the temperature value from it. The double laser pointer helps to quickly and precisely capture the exact measuring point.
Important parameter: The emissivity
The emissivity coefficient describes the ability of a material to emit infrared radiation. It ranges between 0 (perfect reflection) and 1 (perfect absorption). Correct setting is crucial for accurate measured values – especially with different material surfaces.
D:S ratio explained
With a D:S ratio of 50:1, the DIT-500 can reliably measure even very small areas from a greater distance. Example: At a distance of 5 m, a measuring point with a diameter of only 10 cm is captured – ideal for hard-to-reach locations or small target objects.
