Product information

The DIT-120 is a robust and precise pyrometer for non-contact temperature measurement. With its ergonomic design, intuitive one-handed operation and the double laser targeting aid, it delivers reliable results – even under demanding conditions. The device is specially designed for industrial and electrotechnical measurement tasks.

  • measuring range: -50 °C to +650 °C
  • D:S ratio: 12:1 – ideal for precise measurements at a distance
  • Double laser for accurate localization of the measuring point
  • Emissivity adjustable: 0.10 to 1.00
  • Resolution: 0.1 °C / 0.1 °F
  • IP54 housing – dust and splash water protected
  • Backlit LCD – optimum readability

Functions at a glance

  • Maximum, minimum, average & difference value display
  • DATA HOLD – freeze the current measured value
  • Unit switching °C / °F
  • Temperature alarm – upper and lower limits adjustable
  • Automatic switch-off (AUTO-OFF) for battery conservation

Typical applications

  • Temperature monitoring on transformers, busbars & contacts
  • Condition checking on heating, ventilation and cooling systems
  • Maintenance of conveyor belts, bearings & rollers
  • Temperature monitoring in melting and metal processes
  • Ideal for electrical installations, maintenance and industrial manufacturing

How does infrared measurement work?

The pyrometer detects the infrared radiation emitted by a surface. This radiation is collected via a special optical system, focused onto a sensor and then converted into temperature values. The integrated laser facilitates alignment with the measuring point and minimizes measurement errors.

What does emissivity (ε) mean?

Emissivity describes how much IR radiation a material emits compared to an “ideal black body”.

  • ε = 1.00: Maximum emitter (e.g. matt black surfaces)
  • ε < 1.00: lower radiation emission (e.g. shiny metals)\n The DIT-120 allows individual adjustment of this value to adapt to the measuring object.

D:S ratio – Why is it important?

A ratio of 12:1 means: At a distance of 120 cm the device measures a spot with a diameter of 10 cm.\nThe smaller the measuring range, the closer the pyrometer should be to the object – otherwise the measurement may be falsified by surrounding surfaces.
